PVCu Roofline Products

At APS Group, we have a selection of either regular (9mm thick) or jumbo fascias (16mm), as well as soffit boards. These two products are commonly ordered together as part of a roofing project and perform an essential role in protecting the house. Soffits and fascias are functional items but can be very attractive and contribute to the kerb appeal of a property and will help to protect the roof and attic from the elements.

Installing Fascias And Soffits

Fascias and soffits are integral parts of the roofline and help protect homes from long-term problems. They are functional rather than decorative, but still need to have smooth finishes and blend into the property. At APS Group, we have a selection of high-quality products available and they’ll make a welcome addition to your next roofing project.

Fascias

Fascias are long straight boards that are fixed directly to roof trusses or to existing timber fascia. They’re attached where the roof meets the outer wall and usually support the last row of tiles and guttering. The advantages of having a PVC fascia is the ease of installation alongside the benefit of being a maintenance free product.

Soffits

Soffits are similar to fascias but instead of facing outwards, they sit on the underside of the eaves and face down. They’re not usually visible unless you stand directly beneath them and look up, and are typically designed to blend in with the exterior of the building. Soffits often feature small holes or slots for ventilation. Here at APS Group, we have four types of soffits available; our 9mm plain soffit, our hollow soffits, and two types of vented soffits with either standard vents or a 25mm air path.

Benefits Of Soffits And Fascias

The primary function of soffits and fascias is to protect a roof from the elements and reduce the chances of weather damage. Without them, the roofline would be exposed and at serious risk of water or wind getting in and causing serious problems, but they have other benefits too. They provide an effective barrier to insects, birds or other pests that might want to make a home in the roof and offer a degree of insulation as well.

Soffits and fascias also provide an attractive finish to the roof. When they match the decor, they have an understated charm that adds to the kerb appeal. Plus, they can conceal any external fixtures, such as electrical wiring.
